Alexandra Rose will be hosting a fundraising event at the Hello Fresh offices in Old Street next week.
Alexandra Rose supports more than 1,200 families a month to access fresh fruit and veg from around 25 different market traders across London. Last year, traders redeemed more than £180,000 of vouchers. You can watch a short film about the charity’s progress here: https://www.alexandrarose.org.uk/rose-vouchers-film
Chief Executive Jonathan Pauling said the Alexandra Rose team is now working hard to grow and reach even more families in need and the event next week will raise funds to support this work.
Chefs Skye Gyngell, Thom Eagle, Chantelle Nicholson, Lizzie King, Tom Hunt, Nicole Pisani, Sudi Pigott and Sue Quinn are donating their time and skills. They will each cook a vegetarian or vegan dish that both reflects the cultures of families and the joy in a diet rich in vegetables.
Mums who have been helped by the project are coming along to chat about the impact that the project has had on their lives.
Tickets for event – on Wednesday 25th September, from 6pm-9pm – are £35, a price that includes drinks (kindly sponsored by Naked Wines and Russell Partnership). New Spitalfields Market will be supplying fruit and vegetables and Bulazo will provide the speciality oils and spices for the chefs’ recipes.
