The masks mean this is certainly a picture that we’ll be able to put a date on in years to come!
After a, let’s say “unforgettable” year, the Mayor of Waltham Forest Councillor Chris Robbins CBE came to turn on the Christmas tree lights at New Spitalfields Market this morning (November 25).
The annual ceremony took place a little earlier this year, but what the hell, we could all do with a bit of cheer right now as we wait to see what the second post-Lockdown period looks and feels like and, of course, how Christmas will be celebrated in 2020.
With Councillor Robbins are Debbie Howard, the market’s superintendent from the City of London Corporation, Marie Heudebourck, also of the City of London Corporation, and Jan Hutchinson, chief executive of the Spitalfields Market Tenants Association.
